Beliefs!
The Scriptures
We believe that the Bible is infallible and the only inspired Word of God.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17)
The Godhead
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Matthew 28:19, 1 John 5:7)
The Birth, Death, Resurrection & Ascension of Christ
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, the Christ. He was born of a virgin, crucified,
buried, raised from the dead, and ascended to the right hand of the Father. (John
20:30-31, Matthew 1:22-23, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Acts 1:9, Ephesians 4:8-10)
Christ’s Return
We believe that Jesus is coming again. He is literally returning to the earth. This is the
Blessed Hope of the Church. (Acts 1:10-11, Titus 2:13, John 14:1-3)
Sin and Salvation
We believe that all have sinned and need a Savior. Christ is that Savior. Salvation from
eternal judgment is only available to those who place their faith in Christ’s finished
work. It is only by God’s grace, and not our own good works. (Romans 3:23, 1 John
4:14, Ephesians 2:8-9)
Baptism in Water
We believe in following Christ’s command to be baptized (fully immersed) in water.
This act does not save us, but declares our identification with Christ in His death, burial
and resurrection. (Matthew 28:19)
The Lord’s Table
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has directed His church to regularly remember
His sacrifice by sharing communion together. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
Holy Living
We believe that we have not only been given instructions to live a holy life, but have
been given the necessary equipment to do the same. Holy living is not the root of our
salvation, but it is the fruit of it. We are called to be saints. It is God’s will for us to be sanctified (set apart). Sanctification is both a result of the Spirit’s work in us, and our
willingness to cooperate with that work. It is a definite, yet progressive
work of grace. (1 Peter 1:15-16, 1 Thessalonians 4:7, 2 Peter 1:3-4, Ephesians 2:10,
1 Corinthians 1:2, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, Leviticus 20:7)
Physical Healing
We believe that physical healing is included in Christ’s finished work on the cross and
is available today. (Isaiah 53:5, Hebrews 13:8, Galatians 3:13-14)
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in
tongues, is an experience in addition to receiving the Holy Spirit in salvation. It is the
empowerment of a believer to be Christ’s witness and to do His works. (Acts 2:4, Acts
8:14-16, Acts 2:38-39)
Gifts of the Holy Spirit
We believe in the 9 Gifts of the Holy Spirit, and that these gifts still function and serve
a vital purpose in the church today. (1 Corinthians 12:4-11)
Beliefs!
The Resurrection of the Saved & Lost
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and of the lost, the saved to everlasting
life and the lost to everlasting punishment apart from the presence of God.
(John 5:28-29, 11:25, 1 Corinthians 6:14, Revelation 20:12-15)
God’s View of Marriage, Sexuality & Gender
Marriage & Sexuality: We believe that God instituted marriage as a monogamous
relationship between one male and one female and that such a marriage is the
foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. God sanctions
no other sexual activity except what is stated in the context above.
Gender: God has wonderfully and immutably created each person as male or female.
God makes that determination without mistake in the formation of each of us, and we
are born in the body He has designed for us. The two distinct, complementary genders
(male and female) together reflect the image and nature of God. (Mark 10:6-9, Romans
1:26-28, Hebrews 13:4, Romans 9:20, Genesis 1:26-27)
Tithing & Giving of Offerings
We believe that God is the source of our provision and that part of honoring Him is
returning to Him (through the local church) the first tenth of our income, which is
known as the tithe. Additionally, we believe in investing in God’s kingdom through the giving of offerings, both to the local church and other works of God. (Malachi 3:10,
Genesis 14:18-20, Leviticus 27:30, Hebrews 7:8, 2 Corinthians 9:6-8)
